Happy New Year

I’m proud of myself

I was in a horrid place as the year began

And still I am here

Gosh how much I’ve done

How much I’ve learned

Holding myself closer

Being gentler with my fragile self

I am grateful I was able to take myself here

And observe the view and see what may be ahead

What can I say

But I’m excited to see what’s next
